There's no slowing rash of restaurants openings

Oct 26, 2016

Three new restaurants opened in town last week, and this week the McNellie's group opened its first sushi concept on this side of the state.

Yokozuna has two locations in Tulsa and as of Monday has one here. That's when the sushi and noodle bowl bar opened in the Chisholm Creek development.

Named one of the 100 Hottest Restaurants in America for 2016 by OpenTable in March, Yokozuna offers a wide selection of sashimi, nigiri and sushi rolls, plus a strong roster of rice and noodle bowls, Asian-inspired small plates, steak, seafood and dessert. Yokozuna also includes full bar service with wine, specialty cocktails, sake and beers.

The new location seats more than 200 with a main dining room, bar, sushi bar, mezzanine, and ground floor patio. A private room accommodates up to 45. A rooftop deck is currently under construction and should be open come spring.

Next up for Chisholm Creek will be Republic Gastropub, which is set to open late next month or early December. This is the second Republic from A Good Egg Dining Group. The opening comes after Keith and Heather Paul's company opens Barrios Fine Mexican Dishes downtown. With chef Chad Willis at the helm, Barrios is set to open Nov. 2 (give or take a day). The Pauls will open a fourth Tucker's Onion Burgers location in Norman about the same time the new Republic opens at Chisholm Creek.
